Potassium perchlorate / potassium permanganate is one of the
few good examples of a crystal with mixed anions.
This little specimen was grown from about 1,500 ml solution to
which only a few small crystal pieces of potassium permanganate
had been added.
As you may know the permanganate anion is one of the strongest
inorganic "dyes" known, even traces can produce a
slight pinkish hue.
