Potassium Perchlorate

chemical formula : KClO4
crystal class : orthorhombic bipyramidal
growing method : slowly cooling of the aquaeous solution
growing time : app. 24 hours
crystal size : up to 5 millimeters

Potassium perchlorate has the same crystal structure as baryte (barium sulfate; BaSO4) and also the crystals are resembling some well known forms of baryte crystals.
Its solubility in cold water is rather low which makes the growth of bigger crystals difficult.
